Our Solutions for Mechanical Processing

Mechanical Processing

Mechanical processing is the transformation of metals to a specific shape and size for a specific project. There are two main types of processing: hot and cold manufacturing. The former is achieved through two operations, casting and forging. In casting the metal is melted and cast into moulds that already have the final shape of the part, while in forging the metal part is heated to high temperatures and then deformed as required.

Cold working is the most widely used processing, in particular for materials such as aluminium and steel. Various tools are used to carry it out, from which the processing is then named. Although it may seem strange, even in cold working the metal can be heated, thus reaffirming the importance of providing heating and cooling in this type of process.

Heating through the supply of thermal liquids to transfer heat to the parts to be manufactured, air cooling systems to dissipate the heat generated during processing, liquid cooling systems to cool the machinery used and thus ensure its proper operation, recovery of waste heat from some processes in favour of others or nearby businesses (e.g. district heating) are all real examples of the use of applied HVAC systems in mechanical processing.

Successful Stories

It is therefore not surprising that MEHITS, with its 50 years of experience on the market, has already successfully supplied its applied solutions to numerous mechanical processing projects, making the relative factories more comfortable, efficient and modern, reducing energy consumption and thus the operating costs of the processes and, thanks to heat recovery, contributing to the decarbonisation of the plants.
